Why Romwood
We know this market from the inside.
Romwood is a construction recruitment firm built by people who have delivered projects and run recruitment desks. That is rare in this market. It changes how we find and judge project managers, cost consultants, site managers and engineers for clients in the UK and the US.
- Founded by a project manager
- Backed by recruitment leadership
- Small by design
Sector credibility
We did the job.
Romwood was founded by a project manager with six years delivering schemes at leading UK consultancies. Those firms included Gardiner & Theobald, Knight Frank and CPC. The clients included Blackstone, Hudson Pacific, British Land and St Martins.
The work covered Cat A and Cat B office fit-out, film studios, retail units in shopping centres, new build and refurbished residential, healthcare and logistics. We have sat in the design team meetings, run the programme, chased the contractor and reported to the client.
So when we read a CV, we read it the way a hiring manager would. We test technical ability project by project, in a way no other recruiter in this market can. You see the best people in the market, not the best CV writers.
- We brief a role properly, because we understand it.
- We test technical ability, project by project.
- We talk to candidates about the work, not just the package.
Recruitment craft
Backed by people who know how to run a desk.
Behind the desk sits twelve years of recruitment leadership at a major international consultancy, up to Operating Director level. That experience supports every search we run.
It shows in the process. A search plan for every role. Candidates qualified before they are sent. Offers managed so they stick. Feedback given quickly and honestly, in both directions.
Industry knowledge on its own is not enough. Neither is recruitment process on its own. Romwood brings both to every search.
- A written plan for every search, agreed with you.
- Regular updates, even when the news is that there is no news.
- Counter offers handled before they arrive.
Client-side experience
We have sat on your side of the table.
We have worked client side for investors and occupiers. We know what it feels like to depend on a consultant, and what makes a project team worth paying for. That shapes who we put forward.
What this means for you
If you are hiring
You get a shortlist of people who can do the job, not a pile of CVs. You get honest feedback about the market and about your role. And you get one point of contact from brief to start date.
If you are looking
You get straight answers about the firms, the projects and the money. Your CV goes only where you agree. And you deal with someone who understands the work you do.
Small by design
Every search is run by the people who took the brief.
Romwood is deliberately small. We take on only as many searches as we can run properly, and the person who takes your brief is the person who runs it, from the first call to the start date. That is how the quality holds.
See the difference on your next search.
One conversation is usually enough to tell whether we can help.
